The Marauders took a quick 5-1 lead in set one in front of a full home crowd, forcing the Huskies to a use timeout early. On defense, second year Matthew Rugosi (Etobicoke, Ont.) led with nine digs, while setter Robbie Fujisawa (North York, Ont.) made 32 assists and seven digs. Teammate Brendan Mills (London, Ont.) was McMaster's MVP of the game, making nine kills, one service ace, and six digs. Leading the McMaster offense was Sam Cooper (Hamilton, Ont.) with 10 kills, two service aces and two solo blocks. The pressure was on for this game, with the stands packed for the home team and the crowd was erupting with every point. McMaster was the second ranked team in the tournament while Saskatchewan was ranked seventh. The Marauders swept the Huskies in three sets on Friday night for the U SPORTS quarterfinal match.
